UMD Kibel Gallery, College Park, Maryland

Kibel Gallery is a vital venue for inspiration, public discourse, and cross-disciplinary dialogue about the built environment. Through gallery talks, symposia, and events, with partners inside and outside the academy, the Gallery provides access for and exposure to creative expressions that reflect and influence the built environment.

The Gallery plays a vital role in spurring dialogue about architecture and in celebrating exemplary professional and student work. Along with the annual shows of student work, the Gallery has mounted exhibits on topics of architecture, planning, historic preservation, and development in new shows that celebrate design scholarship, research and creative work. Central to the Gallery’s mission is student involvement in conceiving, designing, and mounting shows—challenging the next generation of professionals to actively educate and engage the public about the built environment.
